This article explains what pricing categories are and how to set them up in your account.
Pricing categories let you set different prices for your products based on traveler types — such as adults, children, or participants within a specific age range.
How to Configure Pricing Categories:
-
Go to the Products section.
-
Click the Configure tab.
-
Select the Pricing Categories tab.
-
Here, you can adjust existing categories or create new ones by clicking Create category.
How Pricing Categories Work:
-
All saved pricing categories will appear in any product or experience that uses them.
-
When adding prices to your products, you’ll be able to set different rates for each pricing category. To do this, make sure to select the “Per person” pricing option.
- These categories will also be available in your itinerary settings, where you can choose which categories to apply.
-
Once pricing categories are selected for an itinerary, they can be applied to individual products within the pricing table. The corresponding rates saved in your inventory will then automatically populate the itinerary’s pricing system.
You’ll still have the flexibility to adjust the rates — either within the itinerary products (Standard plan) or directly in the pricing table (Pro plan).
Things to Know:
-
Pricing categories are not automatically translated by TripCreator. If you wish to display them on customer-facing itineraries in different languages, be sure to save them in your preferred languages.
-
Pricing categories are not intended for room types. Room types should be configured directly within your product library. Please see instructions here.
