Privacy is very important to us at TripCreator ehf., [registration number 610113-0950, Armuli 32, 108 Reykjavík, ICELAND] (also referred to “TripCreator” or “we”). We work hard to ensure that the personal information provided to us is secure and held in strict confidence. This Privacy Policy document describes how we process and protect personal information that you provide, explains the rights and options you have to control your personal information and protect your privacy.

Article 1 – Purpose and Legal Obligation
We seek to comply fully with privacy legislation and this policy is based on the current Data Protection Act as well as on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (“GDRP”), or any subsequent, and successor, legislation. TripCreator has updated its privacy policy to comply with the GDRP.
TripCreator as controller is responsible for your personal data and must comply with the applicable privacy regulation. We collect and process your personal data on the basis of your consent.

Article 2 - Collection and use of personal information
To be able to deliver your service/order and finish your bookings, TripCreator may collect and use specific types of information, which may include Personal Information. Personal data/information means any information that can be used to identify a person directly and indirectly. This information may be collected directly or through third party service providers and include, among other, the following information:

  • Registration Information: name, e-mail address, telephone number, company name, website URL and logo. 

  • Location Information: TripCreator may collect and store information about your location if such service is enabled on your device. You may be able to change the settings on your device to prevent it from providing us with information about your location.

  • Log File Information When you register with TripCreator or view our website, we collect information such as your web request, IP address, browser type, referring/exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other browsing information. This information is used to improve the website and enhance our services. In addition, we may monitor, record, store and use any telephone call, e-mail message or other communication with you in order to review any instructions given to us, for training purposes, for crime prevention and to improve the quality of our customer service.

  • Cookies: TripCreator may store cookies on your computer. A cookie is a small piece of data sent from our website and stored in your web browser while you are browsing our website. For further information about cookies please see Article [6] below. 

  • Collection by Third Party Tools: TripCreator may also contain third party tracking tools which may use cookies and application programming interfaces to enable us to collect and analyze user information.

  • Contact information: TripCreator may collect contact information, such as name, address, phone number and email address, both for individuals and for individuals representing legal entities in business with us.

In addition to the above data, TripCreator may also collect and process other data provided by yourself. The data are processed primarily in order to be able to fulfil service agreements with you as a customer and to perform any other duties resulting from our service to customers.

Article [3] - How your personal information is used.
Your user data will be used by TripCreator and by the suppliers you enter into a booking agreement with. 

TripCreator uses your data as follows:

  • To ensure that the Platform presents you with content in the most efficient manner for you and your computer.

  • To contact you regarding a listing, booking or proposed booking, including providing you with booking confirmation and updates.

  • To provide you with the products and services you request.

  • To manage your account, including processing payments and refunds and providing notifications.

  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so.

  • To enforce our Terms of Use, Booking Terms and this Privacy Policy.

  • To notify you about changes to our service.

  • To provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes.

Article [4] - Protection of data
TripCreator has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. We do our utmost to protect personal information and prevent unauthorised access to it. Our security measures consist of encryptions, firewalls, etc. We are constantly improving our security measures to keep up with technological developments.
Your user account is protected by the password you created when registering as a user. It is your responsibility to keep your password private. If you use a computer in a public place or share a computer with others, remember to sign out and close your browser window when you finish accessing our site in order to prevent others from accessing your personal information.

If you have a reason to believe that your account is no longer secure, for example due to loss, theft or unauthorised disclosure or use of your account or password, you must promptly change your password and notify us.

Article [5] - Sharing Information with third parties
When you book a travel itinerary, part of the information you provide may be passed on to the suppliers you have booked with  in order for them to properly provide their services. Our suppliers use your data solely to fulfil the booking agreement.
Under certain circumstances, TripCreator and/or the Suppliers may be obliged to pass on or make available certain information to relevant authorities.
TripCreator is not responsible and does not have control over any third-party websites, plug-ins or applications.

Article [6] – Cookies
A cookie is a small file of letters and numbers that is stored on your computer. 

TripCreator uses cookies to improve the site's usability and content:

  • distinguish you from other users and that helps us provide you with a good experience, when you browse our website and allow us to improve our site.

It is important that the personal data processed by TripCreator are both accurate and pertinent. Therefore, it is important that we are notified of any changes that may occur to your personal data.
You have the right to have unreliable personal data about you corrected. Taking into account the purpose of processing your personal data, you also have the right to have incomplete personal data about you completed, including by submitting additional information.

You have certain legal rights in respect of the personal data we process about you.  These include a right to: 

  • request information about how we process your personal data and obtain a copy of that personal data;

  • request that your personal data be provided to you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to have that information transmitted to another organisation in certain circumstances;

  • request information about how we process your personal data and obtain a copy of that personal data;

  • request that we restrict the processing of your personal data so that we no longer process it until the restriction is lifted; 

  • object the processing your personal data which we process on the basis of legitimate interests; 

  • object to decisions being made about you based solely on automated processing if that decision produces legal effects about you or significantly affects you;

  • request the erasure of your personal data (subject to certain conditions); 

  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that our processing your personal data infringement:

You have the right at any time to demand information about whether and what personal information about you is stored by TripCreator and how it is stored. Such enquiries should be sent by e-mail to support@tripcreator.com. The email shall entail a copy of appropriate identification such as a copy of your passport or ID card in order to verify your identity. Identity (for example, a copy of your ID card or passport) as an attachment to that e-mail. All requests will be processed within a month.

Article [10] – Revision
TripCreator may update this privacy policy in accordance with changes to applicable laws or regulations or as a result of changes in the way we process personal data.
Any changes that may be made to this Policy will take effect after the updated version has been published on the Company's website.
