# Create a Product in your Products Library

## This article explains what a product is and how to create one in your product database.

### What is a Product?

In TripCreator, a **product** is any component of an itinerary—such as accommodation, tours, flights, destinations, or information items.

- A product typically includes a **title** and **description**, **start/end times,** along with optional details like **images**, **pricing**, **location**, **attachments**, and more.
- Products can be created either in the **Inventory (Products tab)** or **directly within an itinerary** (during creation or while editing an existing one).
- Products in the inventory serve as **templates**. When you add one to an itinerary, you’re adding a **customizable copy** specific to that project or customer.

### How to Create a Product

1. Go to the **Products** section or open an itinerary.
2. Click **Create item** and select the desired **category**.
   
   ☝️ **Note:** If you’re working from an itinerary, you’ll find the *Create item* button in the **List view** tab.  
   💡 **Tip:** Each product category has predefined **subcategories** (not customizable). Use **labels** for custom tags.

3\. Use the **left-hand tabs** to fill in relevant product details.

4\. When finished, click **Save**.

   ☝️ **Note:** If you're creating a product within an itinerary, you can also choose to save it to your inventory for future use or simply add it to the current itinerary.
